NYALIC® ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

NYALIC (nigh AL ick) is a single component, crystal clear polymeric resin that provides years of protection against chemical, environmental and ultraviolet corrosion. It is used extensively on architectural metals to provide corrosion protection, improve optical qualities and to help rejuvenate and maintain a showroom finish on metals and painted surfaces. Manufactured and applied by HBI, Inc. professionals or by licensed applicators, Nyalic’s unique formulation is durable yet flexible and performs at a film thickness as low as 5 microns.

Nyalic has many characteristics that make it the ideal choice for use on a wide variety of surfaces and for many different applications. Nyalic is used with confidence on all types of metals including various alloys, aluminum, brass, bronze, chrome, copper, stainless steel and polished mill and brushed finishes to protect against tea-staining, white rust and finger prints.

Nyalic is highly corrosion resistant. Nyalic is impermeable, and the thin-film envelope protection that it provides prevents moisture and air from reaching the surface.

When fully cured, Nyalic’s smooth, clear finish seals the pores of the surface. Painted surfaces retain their crisp look and do not oxidize, and bare metal surfaces do not oxidize or stain. The product is extremely flexible and expands and contracts with the host substrate across a wide temperature range. It is thermodynamic from well below zero to 350° F and expands and contracts with the host substrate. Nyalic will not crack or peel. Additionally, Nyalic is impact resistant and will not chip.

Nyalic is effective against UV degradation and does not chalk or yellow. Used on newly painted surfaces, Nyalic prevents the degradation of the paint. Used on faded, oxidized painted surfaces, Nyalic rejuvenates and restores the surface to a like-new appearance.

Nyalic is non-conductive and static. When used to protect dissimilar metals, Nyalic helps to prevent corrosion caused by electrolysis.

A Nyalic-coated surface is easy to clean, reducing maintenance costs, both in products used for cleaning and in labor. A surface coated with Nyalic resists the buildup of algae, dirt, dust, mildew, mold, etc.

Nyalic-coated surfaces are indefinitely maintainable. Nyalic is self-priming, self-leveling and self-annealing. Recoating or repairing a Nyalic-coated surface is easily done on location. Recoating an existing Nyalic-coated surface will extend the life of the coating.

Simply stated, Nyalic is the clear difference for corrosion protection from the likes of acid and alkaline cleaners, acid rain, bleach, calcium chloride, fertilizers, urea, fly ash, mag and calcium chloride, salt air and salt water and many other corrosion-causing agents.

Product Description, Applications

Designed to withstand extreme temperatures and UV rays, Nyalic is ideal for highly moist or corrosive environments, as well as environments exposed to acids, salts, water, snow, ice, sea air and lime. This clear, fast drying nylonic polymer liquid creates a protective surface coating that will not crack, peel or yellow. It has a wide range of uses, including metal roofs, copper rainwater systems, flashing, exterior lighting, ironwork, handrails, wall cladding, dormers, signs and AC units.

Applied by brush, roller, sprayer or factory-applied by HBI professionals, Nyalic is proven for a range of interior and exterior surfaces:

  • Metals, including stainless steel, steel, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, tin
  • Anodized metals
  • Galvanized metals
  • Chromed metals
  • Polished, mill or brushed finishes
  • Noble metals
  • Exotic metals
  • Finished wood
  • Fiberglass or plastic
  • Electrical connections
  • Mechanical connections
